Gon Freecss: zodiac sign and birth chart
Gon Freecss is a Taurus, born on May 5. Togashi never gives a year, so the rest of his chart is NEBO's take, and that take leans hard into Scorpio. Taurus is the stubborn part: a kid from Whale Island who decides to find his father and simply cannot be talked out of it.

NEBO's take
Canon says Taurus. Our model says Scorpio.
We ran Gon through the same model that matches people to characters in the app, and looked at which chart gets him most often. It reads him as Scorpio all the way across: Sun, Moon, Rising and Mars. The kid who says exactly what he thinks, then holds on to it with both hands.

CanonTaurusNEBO's takeScorpio
Canon's Taurus is the one nobody can move: no one on Whale Island talks him out of finding Ging. Scorpio is the intensity that goes with it: once he decides, he holds on with both hands.
- Moon
CanonNo birth yearNEBO's takeScorpio
Scorpio feels everything at full volume. When Killua is locked up at home, Gon walks up to the Zoldyck estate and asks to see his friend.
- Rising
CanonNo birth timeNEBO's takeScorpio
No birth time in canon. First impression: a cheerful kid with a fishing rod who looks harmless, until Scorpio rising stops smiling.
- Mercury
CanonNo birth yearNEBO's takeScorpio
Scorpio Mercury says the straight thing and means every word. At the Hunter Exam he tells strangers he is here to find his father, and sees nothing embarrassing in that.
- Venus
CanonNo birth yearNEBO's takeScorpio
Scorpio Venus goes deep, not wide. He picks Killua, Kurapika and Leorio at the exam and never lets go of any of them.
- Mars
CanonNo birth yearNEBO's takeScorpio
Scorpio Mars is slow to boil and scary when it does. Jajanken is his signature punch, and Rock hits hardest.
Where we agree: both signs refuse to be talked out of a plan. Taurus digs in. Scorpio holds on, and Gon does both at once.
